About Amelie
As a native French speaker with a lifelong passion for academics, I've consistently achieved top grades in both French and English. This excellence in languages has been the cornerstone of my tutoring career, where I have empowered a diverse range of learners, from immigrants to students at various educational levels including elementary, high school, CEGEP, and university. My deep understanding of these languages, combined with my cultural background, positions me uniquely to offer rich, immersive learning experiences.
My certification through "Succès Scolaire" isn't just a credential; it's a testament to my commitment to inclusive education. I am specially trained to support individuals with learning disabilities such as dyslexia, ADHD, dyscalculia, dysgraphia, and dyspraxia, as well as those experiencing high anxiety. This means I can tailor my teaching methods to suit your unique learning style, ensuring that no learner is left behind.
In my role as a gymnastics coach, I've developed a keen ability to connect with individuals across a vast age range, from toddlers to adults. This experience has honed my skills in empathy, patience, and adaptability, allowing me to create a learning environment that is not only educational but also supportive and encouraging.
As a Psychology and Behavioural Science student at McGill University, I bring a deep understanding of the cognitive and emotional aspects of learning. My fondness for statistics, coupled with an awareness of its complexities, has led me to also offer specialized tutoring in this area. I understand that working one-on-one with a tutor can sometimes be more beneficial than sitting in a classroom, especially for challenging subjects like statistics. Additionally, I offer tutoring in using the statistical software R, providing valuable skills for data analysis and research.
With this unique blend of linguistic expertise, specialized training, coaching experience, academic knowledge, and a passion for statistics and R, I am not just a tutor, but a comprehensive educational guide. I am here to support your learning journey, adapting to your needs and goals, and fostering a love for learning that goes beyond the classroom.
