About Zoe

I'm Zoë, a London-based arts professional, journalist and curator with over a decade of experience living and breathing the art world. I studied Literature and History of Art as an undergraduate — including a year at Oxford — before going on to complete an MA Art Business at Sotheby's Institute of Art and an MA Fashion Media Practice with Distinction at Vogue College of Fashion.

Since graduating I've built a career that spans gallery direction, arts journalism, curatorial practice and creative mentorship. I founded The Artist Workspace, directing 15+ exhibitions and working with artists internationally, and I've been published across leading arts and fashion titles. Mentoring and teaching have always run alongside my practice — I genuinely love helping people find their way into a subject that can feel intimidating at first but is, once you're in, completely captivating.

I believe the best way to learn art history is to engage with it as a living, debated, endlessly fascinating field — not a list of facts to memorise. My students leave sessions not just better prepared for exams, but actually interested in what they're studying.

About the lesson

Art history isn't just dusty dates and famous paintings — it's one of the most exciting ways to understand the world, and I'm here to make sure you actually enjoy it.

I hold two Masters degrees in the arts — an MA Art Business from Sotheby's Institute of Art and a BA in Literature and History of Art, including a year at Oxford studying Medieval Art History and Modernism. I've spent the last decade working as a published arts journalist and gallery director, curating 15+ exhibitions and working with artists across the globe — so lessons come with real curatorial insight alongside the academic grounding.

Whether you're cramming for GCSEs, wrestling with A-level essays, or trying to make sense of an undergraduate module, I tailor every session to you — your syllabus, your gaps, your goals. We'll explore how works are selected, contextualised and displayed, as well as developing the sharp visual analysis and confident written voice that examiners love.

One of my favourite ways to learn? Getting out of the classroom altogether. I'm happy to meet up at the National Gallery, Tate Modern, V&A, Serpentine or the Wallace Collection — because understanding how a gallery curates its collection is one of the best art history lessons there is.
