About Peter
I have a master's degree in Communications/Writing from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas, a Master of Arts degree in Teaching (English, 6th-12th grades) from Centenary College in Shreveport, Louisiana, my special education certification from Louisiana State University in Shreveport, and my essays and articles have appeared in several literary magazines. Also, my first book was recently published that was based on the five years I spent working with a man in Texas who has cerebral palsy. I tutored him to a master's degree, as well as cared for him and helped him communicate with others. My wife and I have one biological son and a baby girl we adopted four years ago.

I like to talk to the student to find out what he or she feels is their biggest needs and weaknesses, and then find out what their interests and passions are so we can incorporate them whenever possible. I believe when a student's input can be implemented, he or she will feel more invested and motivated to succeed.
