About Gauri
My name is Gauri Shukla and I'm a Master's student at the University of Delhi. I completed my graduation in English honors and words fall short to express how much I love studying my subject. Studying Literature has changed me as a person. I'm a more self-aware, kinder, empathetic person now whose understanding of the world is nuanced and intricate. It has helped me understand who I am as a person. One of my favorite quotes is, "We don't read and write poetry because it's cute. We read and write poetry because we are members of the human race. And the human race is filled with passion. And medicine, law, business, engineering, these are noble pursuits and necessary to sustain life. But poetry, beauty, romance, love, these are what we stay alive for."

I believe in alternative classroom teaching methods. We won't stick to books and make our classes boring and monotonous. We'll instead learn through each other, we'll have endless discussions on a wide range of topics, ranging from pop culture to the Renaissance, from the Marvel movies to Satyajit Ray's 'The Apu Trilogy'. Be it grammar or vocabulary or spoken English, I tend to make my classrooms a place where students can learn freely and enjoy what they're studying. I'll be paying special attention to the needs of the students too. Can't wait to dispense whatever knowledge I have been able to accumulate till now.
