About Paul
My career has revolved around writing and publishing compelling essays. I am a professional art critic, with many essays currently in print internationally. In addition to that I have also been on the other side of publishing, working as a senior editor at a major arts and culture magazine. After working for almost a decade in magazines, I am now applying my skills to teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate level at a major London university. In that role I offer support and encouragement to students with varying degrees of fluency in the English language, helping them to produce polished and professional essays that meet examination standards.

My tutorials involve active learning, getting students to write and analyse writing. I am also a responsive teacher, happy to work either on existing assignments or to set tasks based around your needs. I am adept at offering advice on devising a research plan, structuring your essay and writing clear, impactful sentences. Equally I am happy to go back to the basics of English grammar, providing an accessible, informal guide to everything from proper question forms to how not to split an infinitive.
