About Max
I am a published writer also working in literary publishing and artist management. I hold an MA in English Literature and Portuguese and an Mlitt in Creative Writing. I speak Portuguese fluently and currently work as a artist booking agent for a Portuguese arts company. I have taught English literature & language for over 6 years, both in the UK giving private tuition and as a school teachr in Brazil. Working as a publisher, I also have a very strong command of English grammar, terminology and phonetics.

Having learnt a second language from scratch, I understand the difficulties often faced and this has allowed me to develop a teaching style that takes these challenges into consideration, rather than just sticking to set guidelines offered by English tuition courses. I can focus on any element of learning that the student wants to, but my main technique is to equip each student with the tools to improve their personal studying and to learn to think in English, which is arguably the most important element in language acquisition.
