About Light
I'm Light, a qualified MFL teacher (QTS, PGCE in Secondary Modern Foreign Languages from the University of East London) with over 10 years of teaching experience in the UK and abroad. I recently completed school placements teaching French and German at Tonbridge School and William Edwards School, so I know the KS3 and GCSE curriculum and exam formats inside out.
I hold a BA in French and German and the DELF B2, and I am trilingual in English, French and German. I also spent six years as an SEN teacher, so I adapt my lessons for learners with dyslexia, ADHD, autism and other additional needs. I hold an Enhanced DBS check.
I'm patient, encouraging and passionate about making languages enjoyable. I can't wait to help you reach your goals. Bienvenue!

Every lesson is built around you. In our first session I assess your level and goals, then plan lessons that balance speaking, listening, reading, writing and grammar.
- GCSE and KS3 students: exam-style practice, speaking and writing preparation, vocabulary building and clear feedback on how to raise your grade.
- DELF candidates: targeted practice for all four papers, with mock tasks and exam strategies.
- Adult beginners: practical French for travel, work and everyday conversation, so you start speaking from your very first lesson.
Lessons are interactive and fun, using games, real-life materials and digital tools. After each lesson you get notes and practice activities so you keep progressing between sessions.
SEN-friendly: lessons are adapted for dyslexia, ADHD and autism, with clear structure, visuals and a patient pace.
Lessons are available online or in person. A bientot!
