About Carol

I received my Bachelor of Education in 1994. I have since taught in Primary and Secondary state schools and Secondary in independent schools as well as Post 16 Education and work-based apprenticeships. I am able to teach KS1, KS2 and KS3 in maths, up to and including GCSE in English Language and English Literature, up to level 2 in functional skills maths and English, and drama teaching up to A level. I can also work on confidence building and public speaking.

About the lesson

I believe in being led by the learner’s needs and requirements and build my lesson planning around their needs; working to the learner’s strengths and interests. With the right teaching and approach I strongly believe that every individual can, and will, achieve success. In a recent Ofsted inspection my teaching and resources were rated Outstanding. I am a warm, outgoing and creative teacher who approaches each new learner with an open mind and takes the time to listen to them and find out what their expectations are and what they want to achieve. I believe each learner is an individual, and as such no one size fits all. Therefore, each new learner will be met with, either online or face to face, and their needs and requirements assessed, along with the way they learn best, before a scheme of work is created specifically for them.

We required just four sessions in the lead up to the GCSE's for reinforcement on preparing for English Language papers 1 and 2. My son found the sessions very helpful and enjoyed working with Carol. Details

I am currently offering local in-person lessons at your home or online. When teaching online, I use various online platforms which make this form of teaching an enhanced experience for the student. Specific and targeted homework is charged at an extra £5 per session in which homework is set.
