About Feel Prestige

Hi, my name is Day and I have been a Massage Therapist for over 15 years. I currently still provide massage services therefore I’m relatively up-to-date with a variety of massage techniques and mediums. I have worked in a few salons over the years and also as a freelance therapist for a number of Apps which included Missbeez, Urban and Blow LTD. I always received 5* reviews and plenty of compliments and tips for my massage services. I obtained my Swedish massage qualification in 2002, followed by my Diploma in Reflexology in 2003 and Diploma in Aromatherapy in 2004 from The College of North West London. Over the years I adapted my routines and also learnt Deep Tissue and Hot Stone Therapy Techniques. I am able to treat pain or encourage relaxation depending on the pressure and/or oils used. I have been teaching professionally since I obtained my AET qualification in 2019 from College of North East London. I am able to teach you how to massage to prevent injury to yourself by aligning your posture and using your body weight correctly. I'm able to educate you on what pre-blended oils complement each other and why and/or for what purposes they are used, I can demonstrate the various techniques used when providing a massage and their benefits as well as contraindications, contra actions and aftercare advice and much much more. Whatever your reason for wanting to learn massage whether it be for your partner, to improve your own well-being by understanding the benefits of massage or wanting to learn a new trade, I can teach you all that I know and I can promise that whomever you perform the treatment on will Feel Prestige at the end of it.

  • 1) How long have you been interested in the field of well-being and are you practicing?

I have been interested in well-being for as long as i can remember, from an early age i would read How My Body Works books and i always ate my vegetables lol. During my teenage years I enjoyed P.E and Science (especially biology).
I later went on to study Beauty Therapy at college followed by Nutritional Therapy, after working for various Salons and Beauty companies over the years acquiring vital skills and industry knowledge, I decided to branch out on my own and become a freelancer.
I currently still provide Beauty and Holistic services to clients from my beauty studio which include Massages, Facials and Eye treatments to name a few.
  • 2) Tell us what your discipline can bring to people's lives.

I take my teaching very seriously, I'm strict, thorough yet patient and relatable, my brand and reputation is at stake so I ensure that I dedicate myself to providing a high quality service that will equip my students with the necessary tools to become more confident and skilled in their chosen subject.
As a result of training with me a few of my students have continued with further education obtaining qualifications and/or established their own thriving businesses.
  • 3) Could you provide some instant top tips to help us feel good in body and mind?

The top 3 tips I would give to anyone is to always invest in yourself by learning a new skill or reading a new book, you keep your mind active, which aids your overall mental health and boosts confidence. I would also prioritise rest because you can't perform at your best when you're tired, sleep makes you happier and allows your body to rejuvenate itself.
Lastly I would say eat healthy, start your day with lemon water and meditation or exercise and always treat yourself to a massage, sauna/steam, facial etc...If you look after your body, your body will look after you!!
  • 4) How would you describe your method as a practitioner?

First and foremost I aim to keep my lessons student centred, using various learning styles to suit every student's needs.
I ensure that I break down complex terminology or theories by using language that provides clarity thus making it easier for the student to understand, my goal is to make the lesson relatable by using scenarios or sharing my personal experiences with them.
I aim to keep the lessons engaging by encouraging students to ask questions and ascertain the materials I use are educational yet fun.
My intention is to empower my students so I make sure I always support them throughout and even after the lesson often checking in to see if they require anything additional, giving them valuable feedback to motivate them.
  • 5) With experience, are there things you have learned or unlearned about yourself or others?

Over the years i've become more confident in my teaching, I used to doubt myself thinking that i wasn't separating my therapist and tutoring roles effectively but the feedback i have received from students and seeing the journey's they have embarked on since training with me has really encouraged me to teach more and realise that i'm pretty good at it.
  • 6) Do you have a role model, a person who really inspired you?

I have a couple, Firstly my mother, if it wasn't for her i would have never got into Beauty Therapy, let alone be teaching it! She advised me to obtain a trade regardless of what other career paths i may take just incase i may need something to fall back on and/or as an opportunity to make a second income,
Another honourable mention is my secondary school English teacher. She really pushed me to always do better, even if I believe I know quite a lot about something, it's best to believe I know nothing because learning never ends.
Lastly, my college beauty tutor has inspired my whole journey, she started out working at a college to eventually owning her own college, she's the epitome of determination and success.
  • 7) How do you personally relax; what methods work for you?

I personally relax by putting my phone on silent and not answering business calls after 7pm, I do my best to separate my personal and work life so that I can focus on other areas of my life that make me happy. I indulge in self care often treating myself to something as small as a pedicure or as large as a holiday. I love music, reading and binge watching Netflix series.
  • 8) Tell us about a memorable lesson

One of my most memorable lessons was when iI was just starting out after Covid, I had my AET qualification pre covid but never used it. One day my friend who was aware I had it asked me to teach her everything I had learnt in Beauty Therapy, I was rusty after Covid and had never officially taught anyone outside of my college environment but I decided to challenge myself anyway. I remember being so nervous but she really encouraged me to relax and made me laugh. I ended up overtinting my model's fair eyebrows by forgetting the timings while explaining the treatment process to my 'student' . Luckily my model (who was also a friend) was very forgiving and no permanent harm was done but it was from this moment that I learnt how to multitask, structure my lessons properly and become the tutor that I am today.
