About Joanita

Hello and welcome!

My name is Joanita, and I am a qualified Bachelor of Education (BEd) teacher with 6 years of teaching experience, including international teaching experience in Saudi Arabia.

I am passionate about helping students become more confident, capable and enthusiastic learners. Throughout my teaching career, I have worked with learners of different abilities and learning needs, and I understand that every student learns differently.

I specialise in English, English as a Foreign Language (EFL), and Mathematics. My lessons are carefully planned, structured and adapted to your individual goals and level. Whether you are learning English from the beginning, improving your speaking and communication skills, working on grammar and vocabulary, or need additional support with Mathematics, I will guide you step-by-step.

My teaching style is patient, supportive, interactive and student-centred. I want you to feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes because mistakes are a natural and important part of learning. I use clear explanations, practical examples, conversations, activities and guided practice to make lessons engaging and easy to understand.

I can teach in English and Afrikaans and am comfortable teaching children, teenagers and beginner to intermediate learners. I also welcome students who need homework assistance, extra academic practice or support in building their confidence.

As your teacher, I will listen to your needs, respect your individual learning pace and work with you towards realistic goals. My aim is for you to leave every lesson feeling that you have learned something valuable and are one step closer to achieving your goals.

Hello! I’m Joanita, a qualified BEd teacher with 6 years of teaching experience, including international teaching experience in Saudi Arabia. I’m passionate about helping students feel confident, motivated and excited about learning.

My teaching approach is student-centred, patient and interactive. I believe every student learns differently, so I adapt my lessons to their individual needs, goals, learning style and level. I create a friendly and supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and learning at their own pace.

I offer lessons in English, English as a Foreign Language (EFL), and Mathematics, and I can teach in English and Afrikaans. My experience includes working with primary and secondary learners, as well as students who need additional support with their academic skills.

In a typical lesson, we will begin by identifying the student's learning goal and reviewing what they already know. We then work through the new concept using clear explanations, examples, questions and interactive activities. I like to keep lessons engaging rather than relying only on textbooks. Depending on the student's needs, we may use conversations, games, visual resources, real-life examples, practice exercises and short activities to reinforce learning.

I also believe that building confidence is just as important as getting the correct answer. I encourage my students throughout the lesson and celebrate their progress, no matter how small.

My lessons are suitable for beginner to intermediate learners, children and teenagers, including students who want to improve their English communication, vocabulary, grammar, reading, writing or Mathematics skills. I also welcome students who simply want extra practice, homework support or a teacher who can explain difficult concepts in a simpler way.

As a teacher, I aim to make every lesson personal, positive, purposeful and enjoyable. My goal is not only to help students improve academically, but also to help them become more confident and independent learners.
