About Alannah
I am passionate about helping students reach their academic goals. Having completed the leaving cert , GAMSAT, and HPAT and being offered a place in medicine, I understand the tactics necessary to achieve high grades . Having completed my BSc in Bioscience and completing a Professional Masters in Education, I am currently teaching Biology and Agricultural Science at a Private Grinds school where my classroom is an intensive and supportive learning environment, with the purpose to cater to students aiming to achieve high grades for entry to college.
Having spent many years in acdemia, research and teaching, I recognise that a straightforward explanation paired with consistent practice can transform average grades into outstanding ones and what it takes to achieve that H1 grade. I also know how intimidating it can be to ask questions in front of a classroom full of peers. That’s why I offer private, supportive tutoring in a non-judgmental environment, where students can feel comfortable addressing their challenges.

Limited availability for February 2025. Classes are usually 60mins long but extended lessons can also be arranged. Before the class, students should identify and share the topics or chapters they are find challenging. Understanding the student’s previous grades , their expectations from the class and their target grades needed for CAO is important as it clarifies our goals and allows me to prepare tailored materials to each individual.
