About Ayaan
I genuinely love my subject. Alongside my English degree, I have a background in factual television production, which means I bring strong real-world links into my teaching. Skills like communication, writing, speaking and analytical reading aren’t just exam requirements, they’re practical, transferable tools, and I make that clear so learning feels meaningful and relevant.
I’ve worked across a range of school settings, as well as in small group and 1:1 tutoring. This has helped me adapt quickly to different students and understand how to support a variety of needs and personalities.
I’m often described as approachable and easy to talk to, and I place a lot of value on building strong relationships. When students feel comfortable, they’re far more willing to engage, ask questions, and push themselves: this is where real progress happens.

Experienced with KS3/GCSE, including stretch and challenge for high ability students and supporting progress for SEN students.
My style is rooted in clarity, structure and building students’ confidence and independence. I want students not to need me for too long (that’s success to me!).
I focus on diagnosing exactly where students are stuck and giving clear and specific feedback to support their progression. I reinforce the school teacher’s approach to fill gaps of misunderstanding and complement NOT confuse!
In a typical lesson I break down key exam skills: show FULL and varied model answers, moving onto guided practice with the student and then finally moving them towards confidently tackling exam questions on their own.
