About Shanielle

I studied Early Childhood Development with Professional Child Care College, and I’ve also studied TEFL with The TEFL Academy UK. I love working with children of all ages, and I put 100% into my teaching/tutoring. I’ve worked in preschools and as a part-time Au Pair where I’ve helped children with their English homework. Teaching and working with children has always been my passion.

About the lesson

Before I get started, I like to gain my students' trust by forming a personal relationship with them. I believe that it is easier for students to learn and absorb information when they feel comfortable with their teacher and in the environment they are learning in. I try to understand where the most difficult area is for my students and take it from there. I find that working with visual aids works best, and also a lot of practical work, i.e., writing, playing games, etc. I believe the most important thing about learning is having fun. “Play is our brain’s favorite way of learning.” -Diane Ackerman

The first free lesson with Shanielle will allow you to get to know each other and clearly specify your needs for your next lessons.

Details

My standard hourly rate would be R160 an hour. However, if I need to travel to my students, I would charge an additional fee depending on the distance I’d need to travel. I also have a cancellation policy in place. All lessons need to be canceled 24 hours in advance. For any last-minute cancellations, I will charge R150, which will be added to your weekly/monthly bill.
