About Sophia
My name is Sophia and I am a French and Spanish secondary school teacher based in Galway. I am passionate about languages and enjoy creating opportunities for students to actively engage in lessons and feel confident throughout their language-learning journey. I believe that creating a positive learning environment and using positive reinforcement are key to success when learning a language. I offer personalised French and Spanish lessons designed around each student’s individual level, needs and goals. My lessons are interactive and supportive, with a strong focus on developing confidence in speaking and writing while also improving grammar, vocabulary, reading and listening skills. As a qualified secondary-school teacher with three years of teaching experience, I have taught Junior Cycle, Transition Year, Senior Cycle and Leaving Certificate students. I hold a BA (Hons) in French and Spanish and a Professional Master of Education (PME). I offer 30-minute, 45-minute and one-hour lessons.
