About Ellie

I am a qualified secondary school languages teacher and as such have an excellent understanding of pedagogy and the Scottish curriculum. I have five years' experience in Scottish schools and I am acutely aware of the importance of a warm, supportive approach in helping students build their confidence with languages and excel.

I have a degree in Spanish and have previously spent 3 years living and working in Spain. This not only gave me a high level of linguistic skill, but also made me passionate about sharing my love of Spanish! While in Spain I taught children and adults with a variety of levels and needs, and I am passionate about ensuring lessons are tailored to the learner and that they are an active participant in their learning.

About the lesson

I love languages and strongly believe everyone deserves to have a positive experience of education. I will support the school curriculum in order to improve pupils' confidence and ability and help prepare for exams. I will identify which skills to work on and support comprehension, expression and understanding of grammar. I feel it is vital to involve students in their learning and the lessons will be individually tailored depending on their needs, as I don't believe in a one size fits all approach. This goes equally for adult learners, who will benefit from a personalised approach and support for any exams they wish to sit, but also from a relaxed, supportive environment to build their confidence speaking Spanish.
