About Anita

I am a fully qualified primary school teacher with over 20 years of teaching experience in Irish primary schools.

Teaching has always been something I genuinely enjoy, and I find it particularly rewarding to help children develop confidence in their own abilities.

Throughout my teaching career, I have worked with children of varying ages, abilities and learning needs. This experience has given me a strong understanding of the primary school curriculum and the importance of adapting teaching methods to suit each individual child.

I am patient, approachable and encouraging, and I believe children learn best when they feel happy, comfortable and supported.

One of the most rewarding parts of teaching for me is seeing a child who once struggled with a particular concept suddenly understand it and begin to believe in themselves.

My aim is to make learning an enjoyable, positive experience while helping every child reach their full potential.

About the lesson

As a fully qualified primary school teacher with over 20 years of classroom experience, I offer friendly, engaging and supportive tuition for children from Junior Infants to 6th Class.

I understand that every child learns differently, and my lessons are carefully tailored to suit each child’s individual needs, abilities and learning pace.

I offer support in:

* English: Reading, phonics, spelling, comprehension, grammar and creative writing.
* Maths: Number skills, mathematical concepts, problem-solving and building confidence.
* Irish: Reading, vocabulary, grammar and oral language.
* Homework Support: Helping children understand their homework, develop good study habits and become more independent learners.
* Additional Learning Support: Providing extra guidance for children who may be struggling with particular areas of the curriculum.

My approach is patient, encouraging and positive. I believe that building a child’s confidence is just as important as developing their academic skills.

I offer both individual tuition and small-group lessons, allowing children to learn in a relaxed, supportive environment.

All lessons take place at my home in Portlaoise.

I also offer small-group tuition for children who would benefit from learning alongside others of a similar age and ability. Groups are limited to a maximum of three children to ensure each child receives plenty of individual attention and support. Small-group tuition: €30 per child for a one-hour lesson. Individual tuition is available at €40 per hour. All lessons take place at my home in Portlaoise. Please contact me to discuss availability and suitable group arrangements.
