About Cara
I’m a qualified primary school teacher with experience across all year groups from Nursery to Year 6. Teaching has always been something I’ve felt passionate about, I love helping children discover what they’re capable of and watching their confidence grow. Over the past few years, I’ve worked as both a classroom teacher and a private tutor, supporting children of all ages and abilities to make progress in a way that suits them best. I’m creative, caring and patient, and I believe learning should be exciting and enjoyable. I love finding different ways to bring lessons to life, using stories, practical activities and play to keep children engaged. I became a teacher because I genuinely enjoy helping children to succeed, not just academically, but in developing confidence, independence and a love of learning that stays with them.

My approach to tutoring is centred around building confidence, enjoyment, and a genuine love of learning. I always start by getting to know each child as an individual, their interests, strengths, and areas they find challenging, so that I can tailor every session to suit their needs. I believe that children learn best when they feel relaxed, supported, and motivated, so I make my sessions fun, encouraging and interactive. I use a mix of hands-on activities, games and creative resources to bring learning to life, helping children develop key skills while keeping them engaged. Whether it’s boosting confidence in phonics, improving reading fluency, or strengthening understanding in maths, I focus on small, achievable steps that lead to big progress. I celebrate effort as much as success and always aim to create a safe space where children feel proud of what they can do. My goal is not only to help children make academic progress, but also to build their self-belief, independence and enthusiasm for learning, skills that last far beyond tutoring sessions.
