About Siobhán

I am a fully qualified secondary school teacher of English and French, currently furthering my professional development by training to become a primary school teacher. This combined experience has given me a broad and adaptable skill set, allowing me to confidently teach students across a wide age range, from 4 to 18 years old. I take pride in my ability to design and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons that meet the needs of learners at every stage, from primary level through to Junior Cycle and Leaving Certificate, ensuring each student is supported and challenged appropriately.

I have a passion for teaching and I pride myself on my ability to create interesting, interactive, engaging and student-centred lessons.
I am a facilitator of learning, effectively preparing students for Junior and Leaving Cert examinations. I also share effective study techniques.

I also provide fun and creative lessons for children starting out on their foreign language learning, as well as those who wish to develop their literacy and maths skills.

I take time to ensure my students feel comfortable and confident during my lessons so that they reach their potential and achieve their personal goals.

About the lesson

- I provide lessons online using zoom

- My English lessons focus on: essay writing techniques, approaching exam questions, in-depth poetry analysis, approaching the comparative, study of Shakespearean/non-Shakespearean plays, film studies, and comprehension

- French lessons focus on the various strands of MFL: Spoken interaction, spoken production, writing, reading and listening. I can cater for beginner and intermediate levels.

- I prepare Leaving Certificate students for their French orals and Junior Certificate students for CBA presentations.

- Lessons can be 1 or 2 hours in duration

- I also offer lessons to primary aged children seeking to improve literacy and mathematical skills.

- I also provide lessons catering to beginner language learners (English or French) - any age!
