About Ilenia

My name is Ilenia, I'm 33 and I was born in San Sebastián, Spain. I studied Communication and a diploma in Teaching Spanish as a Second Language.
In 2014, I moved to London where I combined my job as a Spanish teacher with a full time position as a Teaching Assistant at a private primary school near Wimbledon.

In 2022 I moved to Melbourne, Australia for two years before coming back to the UK. There, I expanded my career as a Spanish teacher.

I have a passion for teaching my language and the history of my country. I also enjoy writing and collaborate with a few travel blogs writing about my beautiful hometown
In my free time I love travelling (26 countries and counting!) doing pilates, taking dance classes and discovering cafes and bars.

About the lesson

Hola! I'm Ilenia, and I love teaching Spanish in a fun, dynamic, and engaging way. I infuse my classes with creativity, using games, icebreakers, and plenty of interactive activities to get the conversation flowing effortlessly.

I have plenty of resources, including online course books, and I’m more than happy to tailor each lesson to your personal goals and communication needs.

I earned my Teaching Spanish as a Second Language certificate from International House in San Sebastián, my hometown, in 2014. Since then, I’ve spent 10 years teaching Spanish to both adults and children across the globe. I taught in Spanish House London while I lived in London for 8 years, working with students from complete beginners to advanced (C1 level).
In Australia, I taught at El Patio in Melbourne and the prestigious Instituto Cervantes for the past two years and worked as a DELE examiner there.
I was a casual Spanish Language Assistant at an independent school in Melbourne, helping Year 12 students prepare for their International Baccalaureate Spanish Exam.

Additionally, I tutored Spanish with superprof.au in Australia so I'm used to doing classes online.
