About Rachael

I am a qualified Spanish teacher with a PGCE from the University of Birmingham (teacher training) and BA Hons (2:1) in Spanish from the University of Exeter. I have twenty years of experience teaching at secondary level and A Level examining experience. I have also taught adults. Throughout my teaching career I have consistently achieved excellent results for my students at the same time as building their confidence and a good relationship with them. I have taught adults and I aim to make lessons engaging and enjoyable! I have spent a few years living in Spain and South America, which means I have a very good knowledge and understanding of the Hispanic culture and I am fluent in Spanish.

About the lesson

I am particularly skilled at getting students through exams, I have taught most exam boards at GCSE and A Level and was an examiner for Edexcel. I have a huge bank of presentations, worksheets and other resources for you to take away and use. I have an excellent exam success track record. I am creative in my approach and I try to make lessons fun. I am good at making difficult things easy by breaking learning down step by step, practising each stage before confidence is gained to move on to the next. I like students to enjoy my lessons, but I do not neglect the essentials like rules and grammar for the sake of having fun. (Grammar can be fun - believe me!) I can tailor my lessons to whatever my students feel they need. If you are studying a literary text for A Level in Spanish, chances are I have read it and can help you with that too. You may be an adult who wants to learn basic "getting by" or holiday Spanish, be a little rusty and want to brush up, or have a second home in Spain. I can also help with this.
