About Deborah
I have worked as an English teacher and school librarian for over twenty years in a variety of sectors from a large comprehensive to an independent boys' school. I am familiar with the new GCSE curriculum and particularly enjoy working 1:1 to help students reach their highest potential.

The underpinning basis for my teaching methodology is differentiation-this is particularly important when tutoring a variety of students. I carefully break lessons down into achievable parts to give students confidence, set clear criteria for success, offer exemplars wherever possible and try to convey my enthusiasm for my subject.

Our son had difficulty reading, low confidence and didn't enjoy school. He was a reluctant learner and not the easiest character to teach. Deborah's unstoppable positivity, encouragement, commitment and enthusiam, along with her English and tutoring skills have made a big difference.
