About Sam
Hi! I'm Sam. I'm a recently qualified Primary teacher, with 3+ years of experience teaching across Secondary/A-Level and Primary settings. I have taught the breadth of the Primary national curriculum, taught History at GCSE/A-Level, and Politics at A-Level. I am a graduate in History & Politics from the University of York, with a love and passion for both subjects.
Having taught across a wide range of age levels, I have the experience of knowing the right subject knowledge and subject skills to pitch at according to your needs. My sessions are inviting and tailored to suit your preferred learning style, and I always work with my students to ensure they get the best from their tuition.

Lessons will be be tailored around you, your interests and how I can best help you achieve. I get that History and/or Politics/Geopolitics might not be for everyone, and to some it can seem a bit boring and full of old men who are either still around or died long ago, making laws and shouting at each other!
That's why I want to make it my mission to create lessons for you that show the good bits; the plotting, the battles, the revolutions, and so on! Of course, you may also be looking for lessons on exam techniques in these subjects. Having studied History & Politics at university and gone on to teach these subjects across Secondary/A-Level and Primary, I have learnt the craft of how to structure a great essay or exam answer, according to your level, to help you pass your tests. Additionally, I hope to teach you how to develop your critical thinking skills so that you have the confidence to take them beyond school and/or college.
If it's History, I can offer you lessons about events from the 1700s onwards, with expert knowledge in Victorian/Industrial era and 20th Century history. When approaching these complex periods, I will make my lessons digestible, accessible and interactive through a use of multimedia.
As for Politics/Geopolitics, the same structure applies, and I have a strong knowledge of UK and US political systems, as well as a university-level understanding of geopolitical relations in the modern world.
You can come to me with anything you're struggling with in your studies or something completely new that you wish to learn! I will be happy to help.
