About Jessica
I am a warm, friendly, open-minded person with a passion for connecting with others to help them learn. I have spent 16 years living in Asia and am accustomed to, and enjoy, working with people from a variety of cultural backgrounds.
Professionally, I hold a BA in Psychology and a Bachelor of Education on top of 18 years of teaching experience. I also have a TEFL certificate. My teaching career began as an ESL teacher in South Korea, where my love of internationalism began. I have also taught ESL in Toronto, Canada, and Bangkok, Thailand. I then became a classroom teacher and taught at an international school in Thailand for 9 years.

As an experienced teacher, I will tailor my lessons to your particular needs. After an initial assessment and discussion session to determine your goals and learning style, we will mutually create a plan to reach those goals.
Building a rapport between student and teacher is key, so a typical lesson will begin with a short casual conversation, followed by a review of past learning, answering any questions that might have arisen. Next, we will begin the new learning for the day followed by practical application and the setting of additional self-led learning (ie. "homework"), if that is what you would like.
I am looking to work with motivated adults or older students who want to improve their speaking, listening, reading and/or writing skills in the English language.
