About Dr Becky

I hold a PhD in Nursing and Allied Health, an MSc in Sociology, and a BA (Hons) in Sociology, and I have worked across health, social research, and the humanities throughout my academic career.

I have over six years’ experience providing tutoring at this level, supporting students who have achieved strong academic outcomes, including published papers.

I enjoy teaching and tutoring because I value person-centred, supportive learning and know that research can feel overwhelming without clear, kind guidance. I particularly enjoy helping students achieve their goals and attain strong academic outcomes, while developing confidence in their thinking and producing rigorous, ethical research in their own voice.

About the lesson

I am a PhD-qualified qualitative researcher offering one-to-one tutoring and research support for undergraduate, Master’s, and PhD students in sociology, health, and related humanities disciplines.

I provide person-centred, supportive sessions focused on helping you understand your research, develop confidence, and progress your work ethically and independently. Sessions are collaborative and tailored to your project, goals, and deadlines. Sessions usually last one hour.

I can support you with:
• Qualitative research design and methods
• Interview design, preparation, and reflection
• Analysis including thematic analysis (including support using NVivo)
• Analysing and making sense of qualitative data
• Writing and strengthening methods chapters
• Ethics applications and ethical research practice
• Essays in sociology, health, and social research contexts.

Please note the free session is to establish what you want to gain from the sessions and to come up with a plan together.
