Unlike team sports, the recital is a very personal and individual undertaking that requires significant preparation to develop and memorize the music. I recall in earlier years, the process of preparing for the recital and ultimately performing alone on stage was intimidating. Now I believe the experience was invaluable as I am well-equipped to deliver polished performances to large crowds of people and effectively perform under pressure.
