About Frank
I am a recent First Class BA English Graduate who has a passion for English Literature. I absolutely adore the written word, I think its one of the most amazing things we have, and love to share my passion with everyone through both teaching and discussion. It’s for this reason that I’m passionate about helping others through their learning and imparting some of what I see as the brilliance of literature onto my students. In my spare time I read, write and love a kickabout in the park with my mates.

I have always loved learning and, having had both good and bad teachers in my time, understand how important the teacher or tutor’s role is in inspiring that same love. I believe one of the best ways to learn is to find out what people can enjoy about what they’re studying, even if they don’t initially feel enthused. I ask that my tutees bring a piece of recent work to our first session for us to go through so that I can understand the level we are working at. We’ll then go through what they think their strengths and weaknesses are in their subject as well as the experiences they have had of being taught that subject. From this, I should be able to work out what needs to be taught and the best way to advance from there. In sessions, I like tutees to bring along work so we can go through problems they may have had in the session though can also work through new problems and tasks in sessions as well, particularly areas that the tutee feels they are particularly weak in. I like my tutees to bring work from outside the class and, depending on their level, look to provide additional reading that can supplement their learning as well as their understanding of the wider world of literature. My main aim therefore is to not only help people improve their skills but also to try and share my enthusiasm for the subject and hopefully impart that upon my pupils as well.
