About Kirsty
I have studied counselling skills and counselling theory for just over four years, the theories I have studied and knowledge I can offer are CBT therapy (cognitive behavioural therapy) TA (Transactional analysis) and Person Centred theory. I have experience working with clients one on one within GP practices in England, putting counselling skills and the understanding of 3 counselling theories, into practice.
Qualifications in this sector:
Level 2 award- introduction to counselling theory
Level 3 - certificate in counselling skills
Level 4- diploma in counselling theory
Skills and knowledge to obtain from counselling knowledge

Counselling studies isn’t just learning about the theory, it’s learning about yourself, what makes you tick? What have you overcome? Personal development is cruitial. This will help if you’re needing a little extra help with your counselling studies, if you just want to gain listening/communication skills or want to learn about yourself and your own personal growth.
We can arrange to meet in person if you would find that beneficial although I do prefer to use Skype, email, telephones etc, as it means I can be more flexible!
A lesson plan will differ depending on why you’re seeking out a tutor. If it’s for extra help with counselling studies, just let me know what you believe you need the extra help with and we’ll go from there.
Personal development? Just want to communicate with your loved ones better? I’m not here to be your counsellor but, you could obtain some valuable skills of your own, let me know if this is what you want and we’ll adjust the sessions to focus more so on advanced counselling / communication skills.

Details
Your first session will be absolutely free and will be a full 60min.
We can use this time to establish what you want to gain from your sessions, what your preferred learning style is and to get to know each other slightly before starting with the heavy stuff. You can also use this time to figure out if I’m the tutor for you.
My hourly rate includes 1 hour of Skype/phone tutorials. This includes any additional time such as, email queries and session planning.
