About Kyra
Music became my primary language while growing up in a house filled with constant string melodies. I confess that early on I struggled with physical tension until I discovered the freedom of motion during my time at the Curtis Institute of Music. My career now involves performing with the New York Philharmonic alongside operating a private studio in Washington DC.
Watching a 4-year-old student finally grasp a relaxed bow hold provides me with as much satisfaction as preparing a senior for a high-stakes college audition. These interactions remain the most enjoyable aspect of my daily routine.

Silence often serves as the most effective tool for developing an authentic musical voice. We start by focusing on full body awareness to ensure that double stops and complex shifting positions remain fluid rather than strained.
My approach emphasizes the importance of vibrato as a natural extension of physical release. Integrating music theory helps build a deeper understanding of the classical repertoire we study together. This 8.0 level of focused instruction remains accessible for those ready to refine their technique. Reach out whenever you feel prepared to begin your work here.
