About Karen
I am an experienced teacher with over 5 year Chinese teaching experiences and over 10 year experiences to teach different subjects! I majored in Chinese literature and education in the university in Taiwan for my bachelor degree! As the result, I have a great foundation of Chinese grammar and language to students of different levels and tailor Chinese lessons to suit their different learning needs!
I have a bachelor degree in primary teaching and a master degree in secondary teaching in Australia! My education background helps me t understand what learning difficulties foreign students might encounter!
Over the past 10 years, I have taught students from aged 3 toand helped a lot of them to achieve an excellent learning outcome. For example, speaking Chinese with a great tone with confidence or passing Chinese exams to study overseas! I also teach Chinese conversations, Travel Chinese, VCE Chinese, Chinese writing, Chinese literature and philosophy and characters.
I can teach Chinese by using Pinyin or zhuyin. It depends on your preference!

My teaching method includes utilising student’s interests to design lessons which are meaningful and interactive to students! Also, I like to design Chinese lessons which allow students to use Chinese in their daily life like shopping or creating a conversation! I also include video games in my lessons if I know student’s hobby is to play the game!
My philosophy for teaching is to help students enjoy learning, having fun but at the same time learning in a meaningful way.
