About Joni
I am an experienced piano tutor with 6 years of teaching experience, working with students from school, college, and professional backgrounds. My teaching philosophy is to provide a supportive, engaging, and personalised learning experience that allows students to grow at their own pace while developing technical skills, musical knowledge, and creative expression.
I have helped students perform in recitals, complete graded exams, and participate in competitions, achieving both skill development and recognition. My lessons include technique, sight-reading, music theory, improvisation, and performance skills, and I encourage students to explore their creativity and develop their unique musical voice. I aim to make piano learning inspiring, enjoyable, and rewarding for every student.

My teaching philosophy is based on compassion, patience, and effective communication. I strive to create lessons that are interactive, engaging, and tailored to each student’s abilities and goals. In piano lessons, I focus on building technical skills, sight-reading, rhythm, and expressive playing, balancing structured exercises with creative pieces that spark interest and enjoyment.
I maintain open communication, explaining techniques clearly, answering questions, and encouraging students to share their thoughts and goals. Supportiveness is central—I guide students through challenges, celebrate achievements, and help them develop self-confidence.
I use this approach in other subjects I teach, such as music theory, composition, and ear training. My aim is to cultivate skill, creativity, confidence, and a lifelong love for learning.
