About Mae
I am a committed flute tutor with 14 years of experience, having successfully trained around 150 students across different levels. I am passionate about helping students build strong musical skills and confidence. My teaching style focuses on clear communication, patience, and adaptability, ensuring that each student learns at their own pace.
I emphasise important fundamentals such as breathing techniques, fingering, tone clarity, and rhythm. I make my classes interactive by including exercises, songs, and creative activities that keep students engaged. I create a supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and improving steadily.
My strength is simplifying difficult concepts and making learning easy to understand. I also teach basic music theory to support overall development. My aim is to help students enjoy music and grow as confident flute players.

My flute teaching approach is designed around understanding individual learning styles, staying flexible, encouraging collaboration, and maintaining a positive learning space. I believe that when students feel comfortable and understood, they learn more effectively.
I begin by assessing each student’s level and goals, then introduce core techniques like breath control, tone shaping, and finger coordination. These fundamentals are taught with patience and clarity to build confidence from the start.
I keep my lessons flexible, adjusting the pace and structure based on the student’s progress. Collaboration is encouraged through discussions, shared practice goals, and creative exercises like simple improvisation.
A positive environment is central to my teaching. I motivate students through encouragement and constructive feedback. Along with flute, I also teach music theory and rhythm basics to support complete musical growth.
