About Patrick
I have enjoyed teaching English and, although I am retired, I am not yet ready to stop helping students learn valuable communication skills. My approach as a tutor is more of a coach than a lecturer. I enjoy adding humor to each lesson. I have taught high school, AP English, and college classes for a number of years and am very interested in discussing literature of varying levels of difficulty as well.

My name is Patrick. At our sessions, we will share an hour of friendly discussion and valuable hands-on exercises to strengthen your reading and writing abilities. The lesson plan is designed around you: what specific help are you looking for in an assignment? How do you want to strengthen your communication skills in reading and/or writing? My expertise is in the field of English (PhD from Drew University) and my 40+ years of teaching has included working with both high school and college students.
