About Rhiannon

I graduated with a First Class (Hons) Degree from the Royal Northern College of Music in 2014, and received additional training at Il Conservatorio di Rossini, Italy and Wales International Academy of Voice. I have been an active professional classical singer for the past 10 years, and have enjoyed teaching singing alongside my performance career. My main expertise is in classical singing, which can provide a great basis for any style of singing, but I'm also fascinated by many other genres. I have received training in Musical Theatre for mix/belt technique, which can be an excellent gateway into improving both MT and pop singing - so we can look at reaching your singing goals from many different angles! I'm happy to take on pupils for Eisteddfod preparation as a fluent Welsh speaker, and all lessons can be held in either English or Welsh.

About the lesson

Hello! I offer 30 or 60 minute singing lessons, both in-person and via Zoom. My teaching philosophy is to adapt to each pupil's needs, depending on their genre of interest and what their singing goals are. Typically, during a lesson we'll go through some useful exercises for the first 10 minutes or so, both to warm up and to touch base with fundamentals in technique. We'll then focus on one to two pieces of music at a time, polishing each song and using each song as a springboard for discussion on performance technique, musicality, expression and vocal technique. I encourage pupils to bring their own ideas for songs they're inspired to work on, and I will also make suggestions along the way for new pieces that I feel are suitable, so that each student has the chance to explore new musical avenues, and develop the skill of learning new pieces of music. If singers want to develop their music theory or basic piano skills, we can make time during lessons to touch on these, too!

Deadly! Rhiannon was superb from start to finish. Very accommodating and made me feel at ease, which was a surprise as I was so nervous but after a few lessons there was a massive improvement. She was great at fitting in around my busy timetable. I hope to return one day to learn some more. Superb tutor.
