About Binh
I have taught at RMIT University as a sessional academic since 2017, across six courses in information systems, business analysis and IT security. Right now I am teaching Leveraging Artificial Intelligence for Business Transformation, a course built around students running their own hands-on experiments with AI tools rather than reading about them from a distance.
Alongside teaching, I have worked as a software engineer inside Australian universities since 2013, first at RMIT and now at Swinburne University of Technology. That second half matters more than it sounds. I do not only use these tools, I work at the level underneath them: how a model is called, where it sits in a system, why it produces confident nonsense, and what has to be built around it before anyone should trust what it says.
My qualifications are a Master of Data Science with Distinction and a Bachelor of Business in Business Information Systems, both from RMIT University. I am also a part-time PhD candidate in Information Systems at RMIT, with candidature confirmed in 2025, researching machine learning and cybersecurity for critical infrastructure. I hold Professional Scrum Master II and a current Working With Children Check.
What I enjoy most is the moment the anxiety drops out of someone's voice. Very few people are short on intelligence when it comes to AI. Most are short on a method, and a method is a teachable thing.

Most people have already tried ChatGPT, Copilot or Gemini, got a bland answer, and quietly decided AI is overrated. The gap is almost never the tool. It is method: what you ask for, what context you hand over, and how you check what comes back.
I teach three groups of people.
Working professionals and small business owners. We start from what you actually do in a normal week, then find the tasks where AI genuinely saves hours: drafting and rewriting, summarizing long documents, first-pass analysis of a spreadsheet, preparing for a difficult meeting, turning messy notes into something you can send. You leave each session with prompts built around your own job, not generic examples from a slide deck.
University students. I mark real assignments, so I know exactly where AI use goes wrong and how markers notice. I teach you to use AI to strengthen your thinking rather than replace it, and to stay clearly on the right side of your university's academic integrity rules. That second part protects your degree.
Complete beginners and older learners. No jargon and no assumed background. We go one screen at a time, at your pace, until you can sit down alone and get something useful out of it without me in the room.
How the sessions run:
- Online by webcam, with screens shared both ways, so you are the one typing. Watching a demonstration teaches almost nothing; doing it yourself while I correct you teaches quickly.
- 60 minutes by default. 90 minutes if you want to take one real task all the way through.
- Your first lesson is free. We use it to work out what you actually need and to check we suit each other. Nothing is owed afterwards.
- After each session I send you a short written summary with the prompts we built together, so you are not relying on memory.
- Lessons in English or Vietnamese, whichever you are more comfortable thinking in.
One thing I teach that most AI courses skip: where these tools fail. Confident wrong answers, invented references, information quietly going stale, and the privacy problem of pasting client or company material into a public tool. Knowing the edges is what turns AI from a party trick into something you can lean on at work.
