About Phuc
I am currently a student at the University of Toronto, where I was recognized as a University of Toronto Scholar and awarded the International Scholar Award. Before that, I ranked 1st out of 849 students for three consecutive years and achieved IELTS 8.0 and SAT 1500.
Over the past few years, I have taught and mentored more than 100 students, ranging from foundational learners to high-achieving competitors. My experience spans both structured classroom settings and personalized one-on-one tutoring.
In particular, I have worked closely with past NEC (National English Competition) mentees, supporting them in strengthening advanced English skills, analytical reasoning, and high-level writing. Many of these students were already strong performers, so my role was not simply to “teach content,” but to refine precision, deepen critical thinking, and sharpen exam strategy.
Through this experience, I developed a teaching approach that is strategic, adaptive, structured, and feedback-driven. Teaching over 100 students has trained me to recognize patterns, common misconceptions, recurring logic gaps, and inefficient habits, which allows me to intervene early and guide students toward stronger independent performance.
Beyond improving scores, I focus on building intellectual confidence. My goal is that students leave each session not only knowing more, but thinking better not only for the exams, but also for their learning as a whole

If you’re looking for a lesson that goes beyond just “getting the right answer” and actually helps you understand why the answer is right, I’d love to work with you.
I don’t teach by simply going through slides or memorizing formulas. In every lesson, we focus on three core things:
1. Understanding the foundation, why things work the way they do, not just what to do.
2. Building real thinking skills, so you can handle unfamiliar or difficult questions independently.
3. Test strategy - how to maximize your score under time pressure.
