About Stephanie
Hi, I'm Stephanie! I'm a school counselor with over 13 years of experience supporting students in school and community settings, and I'm currently completing advanced training in mental health counseling. Throughout my career, I've helped students build the study habits, organization skills, and confidence they need to succeed, both in the classroom and beyond. I take a patient, personalized approach with every student, and I'm committed to creating a supportive space where they feel comfortable growing and asking questions. My teaching approach is built on 13+ years of experience working directly with students, so I start by understanding how each student learns best, then build study systems around that. I use a strengths-based method: identifying what's already working, then adding organizational tools, homework routines, and focus strategies that make schoolwork feel manageable rather than overwhelming.
A typical lesson opens with a quick check-in on what's been going well and what's been hard, then moves into concrete skill-building, planning out an assignment, breaking down a task, or practicing study strategies. I always aimed at giving students tools they can use on their own. We close with a short recap and a simple plan for the week.
What sets me apart is my background as a school counselor, varsity soccer and basketball coach, and my current advanced training in mental health counseling. I bring a whole-student perspective, focused on building lasting habits and confidence, not just finishing the task in front of us.
My lessons are best suited for students who want extra support with organization, study habits, and building sustainable homework routines.
