About Emilia
I am a student at UCC, currently training to become a fully qualified biology and chemistry teacher. My passion for science began in school, where my biology teacher inspired me to pursue the subject further and help others understand and appreciate it.
I have three years of school placement experience, working in real classroom settings where I’ve developed my ability to adapt my teaching to suit different learners. I’ve also worked at science camps in both laboratory and teaching roles, giving me valuable hands-on experience in making science engaging, practical and accessible.
I focus on teaching in a way that looks closely at each student’s individual needs, identifying the areas they find most challenging and tailoring my approach to support them specifically. My goal is to help students build confidence, understand difficult concepts, and genuinely enjoy learning science in a way that works best for them.
Outside of academics, I enjoy reading, listening to a wide range of music, and playing instruments such as the violin and guitar.

I take a very personal approach to teaching biology and science, and am willing to help with any topics covered in school, which the student may be struggling with or wishes to be taught. I achieved a H1 in Leaving Cert biology and have helpful notes to offer my students. I also strongly encourage looking at and going through past exam papers, as these are very helpful in preparing students for their exams.
