About Taniya

Hello! My name is Taniya, and I’m a passionate science tutor with a strong background in environmental studies and real-world research. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture and am currently completing my Master’s in Sustainable Aquaculture at the University of Stirling in Scotland. I’ve always loved science, not just for the facts, but for the way it helps us understand how the world works. From how plants grow to how ecosystems stay balanced, science is everywhere. That’s why I love teaching it. I want to help students not just learn science, but enjoy it, ask questions, and feel confident exploring it on their own. I work mainly with elementary and middle school students (ages 7 to 14), and I tailor every lesson to suit the students’ learning styles. My teaching approach is clear, interactive, and often story-based, because science becomes easier (and way more fun) when it’s explained like a journey rather than a list of rules to memorise. I take my role seriously and always bring professionalism, patience, and encouragement into every class. About the lesson

I like to make science feel like a story—because that’s what it is. Whether it’s how plants grow, how the human body works, or why the stars shine, there’s always a story behind the “why” and “how.” I don’t just list facts and ask students to memorise them. I build lessons around curiosity, relatable examples, and imagination. I want my students to feel like they’re part of a discovery, not just sitting through a lecture. I usually run lessons for about one hour, but I’m flexible depending on the student’s age and focus span. For younger kids, we may keep it a bit shorter and break things into bite-sized chunks, incorporating hands-on tasks or mini-games. For older students, I go deeper into topics, helping them link concepts across subjects and think critically. My lessons are for elementary and middle school students (typically ages 7 to 14). Whether they need help keeping up, want to explore science beyond the textbook, or just need someone to explain things in a way that finally makes sense, I tailor the approach to fit. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture with Honours, and I’m currently pursuing a Master’s in Sustainable Aquaculture at the University of Stirling. I’ve worked on real-life science projects—from shrimp feed trials to farm efficiency studies, and I bring that practical, problem-solving mindset into every session. I’ve also worked with different age groups in both formal and informal settings, so I know how to adjust based on a child’s pace and personality. In short: my job is to make science click—and even better, make it fun.
