About Vanita
I am a South Asian American, LGBTQ woman raised by immigrant parents in beautiful Northern California. I have a BA in Psychology from UC Berkeley, after which I decided to pursue my true passion: writing. I took extension courses, taught myself, and learned on the job and am now a repped screenwriter in Hollywood, writing on a Disney TV show for which I have written multiple episodes from conception to finished script. I was also previously the recipient of the prestigious ScreenCraft Fellowship in 2021, and I have written & pitched TV pilots to studio executives.
