About Stephanie
I am a veteran high school and middle school English teacher with a Masters in English Education from Teachers College at
Columbia University and over ten years of experience teaching in New York City and the Philadelphia area in both the public
and private sectors. In my years of teaching English, I taught special education, general education and honors level classes to
seventh, eighth, ninth, tenth, and eleventh grade students, and designed all of my own curriculum.
I currently work as a Special Education teacher and case manager for students with learning differences in a large public high school.
Oh! And I used to be a professional hoop dancer! :) I know all the tricks with hula hoops.

My approach to the English classroom is one of learning
to read literature and the world around us through multiple perspectives so that we might be active participants for change. At
the heart of my work is teaching students to embrace and celebrate diversity while inspiring inquiry and honing a true command of language.
I work with middle and high school students, grades 6-12, and
I make learning fun!
I incorporate student interests and games into my lessons!
I am experienced in helping student write personal statements for college admissions! My students have been accepted at NYU, Vanderbilt, and even Edinburgh!
I am a Special Education Teacher and English teacher, so if your student has dyslexia, ADHD, Autism, or a processing disorder, I'm your teacher!
