About Alice
I want all my students to succeed! It can be scary to learn new things or subjects you find difficult, but I think you will find it can be easy with me. I am approachable and want the best for you. I have been teaching and designing materials for students for 25 years. I consider myself a lifelong learner alongside you. One of my students said in an evaluation of me: "She's like Mary Poppins--practically perfect in every way!" I try to make learning engaging, fun, and rewarding for all my students.

I believe in multi-modal learning and finding the best approach that works for each student. I both teach and develop curriculum so I understand both the academic and human elements.
The best lessons involve "Hook, Book, Look, & Took"--that is, something to engage your attention right from the beginning, centering down on the text/subject matter, discussion & practice, and a takeaway summary of what you have learned.
I have experience in teaching English, writing, communications, public speaking, transitions, disability awareness, executive functioning, and sex education/healthy relationships from Kindergarten through college. I teach the general population, but I also specialize in students with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities.
