About Maria
I love English, however in all irony and contradiction to that statement, I hate reading. I prefer to go off summaries and synopsis’s of books, that’s my way of learning and I would have loved if someone utilised that when I was in school. I was never any good at maths or languages either, I had teachers that weren’t able to take the time to help me one on one and I struggled because of it.
My goal is to help students extort the way they learn best, to utilise how they learn and to be productive. I wish I had that in school, and I want to help people who I was once in the same position as!

I will provide a comfortable and safe learning environment, there will be no on the spot questions, I don’t believe in scare tactics or making students feel anxious. If you don’t understand something we will work through it together!
I will breakdown texts and plays with you and provide a detailed analysis of those prescribed texts, I will do the same with poetry. I will teach you how to write essays that are concise and to the point, we will target H2s and H1s.
I believe anyone is capable of thriving in the right environment and with the right guidance!
