About Charny
"Self-taught habits defined my 13 years of playing bluegrass and old-time festivals. I understand the nuances of the fiddle deeply.
My teaching style is neurodivergent-affirming and rooted in the oral tradition. This approach helps adult professionals and self-taught players find genuine structure. I have spent 10 years playing across the American South.
My background includes classical repertoire and music theory. I use custom scale and etude sheets for each student. These tools help bridge the gap between intuition and technique.
Music is a lifelong companion for me. I hope to share that joy with you."

"Learning fiddle begins with the quiet sound of a bow hitting a string. I prioritize tuning by ear and building left hand agility for all my students.
We will move through double stops and grade exam prep at your pace. This process supports those who feel overwhelmed by traditional rigid methods. The oral tradition works well here.
