About Charlotte

I am a native English teacher from Oxford in the United Kingdom. I have been helping English students improve their level and feel more confident and comfortable communicating in English for more than 20 years.

As a teacher, I am close, patient and professional. I have the flexibility to adapt to your learning style and interests. My goal is for each class to be stimulating as well as fun. We learn best when we feel comfortable and supported.

About the lesson

I teach intermediate and advanced students (adults and teenagers) in groups of 2 to 4 and individually. I adapt my classes to the student's specific objectives but they can include:

Speaking - develop your fluency and confidence so that you can join in a conversation or speak about any topic without feeling embarrassed or insecure.

Vocabulary and grammar - learn how to use words correctly and appropriately so that you can communicate clearly in different situations. Grammar and vocabulary may be taught as it comes up in discussion, or with structured activities.

Exam preparation - I have experience preparing students for the Cambridge exams (Pet, First, Advanced and Proficiency) and IELTS.

Business English - Practice talking about your work, job interviews or presentations, as well as how to cope with informal situations in your company.

Homework and follow-up - I will send feedback (corrections and new vocabulary or expressions) after class along with suggestions to continue learning on your own between classes. This will often consist of listening practice (videos or audios), articles to read, and grammar or writing activities.
