About Jess

I'm Jesse, and I taught myself German aged 14 and am now at C1 level, and often get mistaken for a native speaker. I also study German A-Level, which involves analysis of film and literature in the German speaking world, which is complex and calls on important linguistic skills. I am here to help make the language-learning process an enjoyable and rewarding experience, as with a true passion for the language, the improvement comes naturally.

About the lesson

Having been through the learning process personally, I am aware of the tricky concepts and rules that the German language has to offer, but equally have picked up handy strategies and tips along the way, which I am keen to share to help supercharge your language learning journey, at whatever stage you may be. I can help with literacy skills, such as comprehension and writing, as well as sharing high-frequency vocabulary to excel your communication ability. I also offer speaking practice, and can engage in conversation in German with you, and give you tailored, bespoke feedback. Having immersed myself fully in the German speaking world to achieve C1 level in 3 years, I believe that frequent exposure to the language is important, no matter your level. I have a large range of recommendations for authentic German material and can find ones suited to your interests and level, for further learning and development. Whatever your goals - whether you want an intense improvement regime, or a laid-back way to keep up language skills, I can offer insight and guidance and enhance your confidence in German.
