About Todd
I’ve been studying and speaking Spanish for over 6 years starting with my move to Mexico.
After only 4 months in Mexico, I was casually speaking with people daily and even teaching Spanish to my colleagues who were struggling with the language.
I have experience with college level reading, writing, and speaking, and received the highest marks available on the university Spanish fluency exam.
I'm self taught which differentiates me from those who grew up speaking Spanish who, oft times, don't understand why they say the things they do, they just say them. I've been in the thick of the grammar studying the "whys" of Spanish and can help make learning it logical and simple.
I currently live and work in Honduras so my daily and professional life are surrounded by Spanish. My focus reflects the type of Spanish I use daily which is practical spanish you will actually be able to use.

Everyone’s style for learning languages is different but the one key is repetition. I can adapt to your style and help you gain a deep understanding of the inter-workings of Spanish that will propel you forward in your study.
My approach to learning Spanish is based on my tried and true method of mastering the fundamentals of Spanish.
A typical study session would entail a personalized, curated lesson that goes over a new concept with time for practice and questions. After our lesson, my students get regular emails with practice, vocabulary, tips and tricks, and additional tools to help them practice and excel in the concepts they’ve learned.
Upon returning to a lesson, it is preferable that a student come prepared with questions they’ve had during their personal study. Making mistakes and asking questions is the most critical method for long lasting language learning that reinforces the brains ability to identify vocabulary and grammar concepts as “important” which aids in long-term retention.
