About Nina
I have always had a keen interest in both education and languages. In addition to Spanish, I have also taught myself Russian and Italian. I am particularly passionate about helping people build their confidence, especially those who are neurodivergent or have a disability. I know that traditional school environments can be very challenging for them and often break down their sense of self-efficacy. I love helping students to find strategies and tools that really work for them and watching their confidence flourish as their comprehension and fluency improve.

I take a communicative approach focusing on the use of engaging material which presents language in context. Functional language is prioritized over rote grammatical teaching. Grammar points will be presented and dealt with as necessary to support natural communication. However, if you are an exam student, who is really struggling with grammar I can absolutely focus on this and help you get to grips with any grammatical structure.
My approach is student-centered and adapts to your interests, strengths and weaknesses. I believe confidence is essential to making progress and aim to build each student's confidence in their own abilities.
I have an Honors Degree in Early Childhood Care and Education and a Master's Degree in TEFL. I am a self-taught Spanish speaker who has traveled extensively in Spanish speaking countries, volunteering, living and working in local communities.
I have worked for 16 years in International Schools and for myself teaching both EFL and Spanish. I have helped students prepare for IELTS, FCE and leaving cert exams. I have also taught adults who have Spanish partners or enjoy traveling to Spanish speaking countries to develop their fluency, speak more like a native and work on their accents. I have also worked with children from the ages of 2 to 12, adopting a playful and active approach to learning a second language.
