I’ll start off by engaging the children with a question or picture or simply a word to and ask them to tell me what they think about it. What it means to them. Then I will explain my meaning behind it and then relate it to the topic we are focusing on. If it’s phonics or a piece of text we are reading through I will make sure it’s clear and easily understandable for the children to understand. I will get the children to answer a few questions and sometimes add an extension to push the children. Once I feel as though they have grasped the topic I will move onto the next.
