About Katy
I am a senior finance and commercial leader with more than a decade of experience working within a major UK organisation.
My professional experience includes credit management, accounts receivable, contracts, claims, commercial risk, reporting, stakeholder management and team leadership. I work across finance, operational, commercial and customer-facing functions, where decisions often require a careful balance between maintaining relationships and protecting the organisation’s financial position.
Throughout my career, I have supported colleagues and teams with understanding complex processes, resolving difficult commercial issues, preparing for challenging conversations and making clear, evidence-based decisions.
I am currently studying towards the CIMA professional qualification, developing my established workplace experience through further learning in management accounting, business performance and commercial decision-making.
My approach is practical and professional. I explain complex issues clearly, create structure where situations initially feel unclear and help people understand the reasoning behind an effective decision.
I recognise that adults have different communication, processing and learning preferences. Sessions can therefore be adapted through clearer written structure, practical examples, repeated explanations, additional processing time or a slower step-by-step approach where helpful.
My lessons are particularly suited to adults who want credible workplace guidance from someone with substantial operational experience, rather than purely academic finance tuition.

I provide practical one-to-one support for adults who work in, or are preparing to enter, credit control, accounts receivable, contracts, claims and commercial finance roles.
My lessons are designed to help you understand how these responsibilities operate in a real workplace—not simply learn definitions or textbook processes.
Sessions can support you with:
• Understanding the purpose and principles of effective credit control
• Managing accounts receivable and overdue customer balances
• Prioritising accounts, workloads and collection activity
• Preparing for difficult payment and debt-related conversations
• Handling customer disputes professionally and constructively
• Investigating invoice, payment, contract and process discrepancies
• Understanding credit risk and commercial exposure
• Balancing customer relationships with financial responsibility
• Working effectively with sales, finance, operations and customer-service teams
• Communicating risks, decisions and recommendations to managers
• Understanding contracts, claims and wider commercial responsibilities
• Preparing for credit-control, accounts-receivable or contracts interviews
• Building confidence when moving into a senior or supervisory position
Lessons are suitable for people who are:
• Starting their first credit-control or accounts-receivable role
• Moving from administrative processing into greater commercial responsibility
• Preparing for an interview or internal promotion
• Finding particular conversations, decisions or processes difficult
• Seeking a clearer understanding of how credit, contracts and commercial risk connect
• Beginning to supervise or lead others within a finance or commercial team
Each lesson begins by agreeing the specific situation, skill or process you want to address. We will then break the subject into clear stages, examine realistic and non-confidential workplace examples, and identify practical actions you can apply within your own role.
Where appropriate, sessions may include scenario analysis, conversation preparation, role-play, process mapping or structured feedback on how you would approach a workplace situation.
My approach is calm, structured and commercially grounded. I will help you understand not only what action to take, but why it is appropriate and how to explain your reasoning professionally.
These lessons provide professional development and practical workplace support. They do not constitute legal advice, regulated financial advice, employer-specific consultancy or formal CIMA, ACCA or AAT examination tuition.
