About Leona
Hello! I am a singing instructor with 6 years of teaching experience and a Bachelor of Music in Musical Theatre Voice. I specialize in helping students of all levels develop their vocal skills with confidence and artistry. My training spans Classical, Pop, Rock, and Country styles, giving students a versatile foundation in diverse genres.
I focus on ear development, harmony, improvisation, and music theory to strengthen both technical and creative abilities. Lessons are personalized to each student, targeting vocal control, tone, and musical expression. I work closely with learners to improve phrasing, dynamics, and stage presence, ensuring they feel ready for performance opportunities.
Through guided exercises and repertoire selection, students build both skill and confidence. I emphasize practical application, including live performance simulations and interpretation of songs across genres. My singing approach is designed to help students prepare for auditions and build a strong vocal portfolio. I focus on careful song selection, ensuring pieces match each student’s vocal tone and strengths. Controlled dynamics and phrasing are emphasized to enhance expression and stage presence.
Vocal agility exercises help students improve flexibility, accuracy, and control. Mock auditions simulate real performance pressure, building confidence and readiness. Genre diversity is explored so students develop versatility and adaptability across styles.
The Music Major benefits from structured exercises, theory-based practice, and repertoire development, strengthening technical precision and interpretive skills. The Suzuki Student gains from repetition, ear training, and guided vocal exercises to reinforce learning.
I encourage the use of backing track apps, lyric trainers, and pitch analyzers to support practice at home. Students learn to self-monitor progress while staying engaged and motivated. Every lesson balances technical skill, artistic expression, and practical performance readiness.
